New hotel openings on the Palm Jumeirah will give event planners eyeing Dubai as a meetings and conference destination more venue options in 2011.
The man-made palm-shaped island has already seen additional properties coming online this year such as the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, The One & Only and Kempinski Hotel & Residences.
Other hotels opening on The Palm in 2011 include The Royal Amwaj Resort and Spa and Oceana Hotel and Spa, both of which will be operated by Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts.
Meetings facilities at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray include the Mehteran Theatre and Event Venue for between 380-750 guests. It also has five meetings rooms ranging from 104-107 square metres with capacity for 30 to 70 people, a business centre and private offices. The beachside hotel has 363 guest rooms, 41 suites and 38 exclusive residences.
The seven-storey Kempinski Palm is offering two meetings rooms with laptops, a projector, laser jet printer, DVD player, LCD TV and sound system for 10 to 12 people. The property will also provide outdoor areas for product launches and gala dinners.
When opened, the Oceana Hotel & Spa will have eight daylight meeting rooms with audio visual equipment, and a business centre. Meanwhile, the Royal Amwaj – a five-star Asian themed resort – is to offer four daylight meeting rooms catering for between 10 and 40 people and carrying the latest audiovisual equipment, internet access and climate control system. A banquet hall and elegant ballroom for up to 300 guests will also be available.
