Dive Into The World Swimming Championship At A Brand New Dubai Venue
The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) are pleased to support this prestigious important event and are very excited to have an event of this caliber in Dubai.
DTCM/DCB is one of the seven national sponsors for this event and would like to encourage participation in a healthy lifestyle through supporting swimming which is an important cultural activity in the UAE.
Hamad bin Mejren, Executive Director of Business Tourism at DTCM/DCB said: ‘‘DTCM is excited about being involved in such a prestigious event, which we are certain will prove to be a resounding success.”
He added: “The fact that these championships in Dubai are set to be the biggest, both in terms of the number of athletes and also participating countries in the history of the event, speaks volumes of Dubai’s global appeal as an excellent venue to stage high profile sporting events. This perfectly complements the Emirate’s already established image as a premier destination for leisure and business.”
The championships will take place in the new, spectacular, Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Sports Complex on the Dubai Bypass Road from 15 – 19 December 2010. The Championships are set to be the biggest in FINA’s history, with more than 700 of the world’s best athletes from over 139 countries coming to Dubai to take part in five days of top-class racing.
