Dubai showcased in Vancouver, Canada

The Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) had the chance to showcase the emirate of Dubai and DCB’s services at two events held recently in Vancouver, Canada.

DCB exhibited at the MPI World Education Congress (WEC) that attracted over 3500 delegates from around the world, although predominantly from North America.  MPI WEC provides a platform for destination marketers such as the DCB to interact with independent and corporate meeting planners from the North American market.

Karina Lance, DCB Head of Sales, commented: “This is the second time we’ve exhibited at MPI WEC and found the exhibition at MPI WEC 2010 even better than last year.  The show floor was buzzing for 2 days and we had great foot traffic to the Dubai stand with a lot of interest from the delegates about Dubai.”

Immediately following MPI WEC 2010, the BestCities Global Alliance held one of their annual client workshops;  inviting  9 association clients to Vancouver to spend a full 6 day program with the sales teams from all 8 BestCities.

The BestCities client workshops enable bureaus that are part of the alliance to strengthen rapport and build bid opportunities with association clients, while showcasing the MICE appeal of the destination.

Dubai will be hosting the BestCities client workshop in November of 2011.
